RAHARNEY HURLING CLUB – CLUB NOTES FOR WEEK ENDING 07/03/2015

CLUB LOTTO

Lotto results for week ending 28^th February 2015. Numbers drawn were 01, 08, 09 and 24. There was no winner. There was seven match three winners. Congratulations to M. Mulvaney, K. McKeogh, K. Riggs, B. Croash, A. Lynch, C & O Swords and M & N who won €30 each. The promoter’s prize was won by Hilary Mullen The jackpot for week ending 14^th February 2015 will be €11,400. Raharney Hurling Club would like to thank all of its patrons for their generous and continued support.

CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Club Membership must be paid in full by 31^st March 2015.  Rates are, Family €50, Senior player €30, Juvenile €20, Ordinary €20, OAP €20. Membership can be paid to Club Registrar, Paddy Connaughton, or any Committee Member, detail of all which can be found on our website www.raharneygaa.ie.  Participation in Committee meetings, training sessions and games will be restricted until membership is paid.

VICTORIOUS RETURN TO JORISTOWN

It was a victorious return to Joristown Park for our Senior Hurlers in their Leinster League match against ST. Bridgids of Dublin. In a match played in Baltic weather conditions Raharney ran out winners by 2-07 to 2-05. St. Bridgids led by 2-05 to 1-04 at half time. With some hard pressing Raharney managed to pin Bridgids in their own half for long periods of the second half and in turn keep their opponents scoreless for the whole of the second period, while adding on 1-03 themselves to run out winners.

Without doubt the other big winners on the day were the new pitches. It was noted by many, who attended, that they were in marvelous condition and were something of which the Club can be extremely proud. The years of planning and hard work have now come to fruition and the feeling of many at the game was that we surely have many great years to look forward to in Joristown Park.

WESTMEATH UNDER 10 INDOOR HURLING BLITZ

Congratulations to our Under 10’s who took part in the Westmeath Indoor Hurling Blitz, held in Clonkill last Saturday, and won all of their matches throughout the course of the day.
