OFFICIAL OPENING OF JORISTOWN PARK 19th April 2015

Well what a day it turned out to be. From early morning to late evening it was a day that will be long remembered in the history of the club. The Club would like to extend sincere thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. There would just be to many to mention individually but we would like to thank the organisers, the car park attendants, all the parents who made sandwiches & cakes etc, the staff who looked after the refreshments marquee, the camogie and hurling mentors, the visiting teams, the camogie and hurling players of all ages and from both our own club and visiting clubs. There was a wonderful display of skills from all age groups in both camogie and hurling. Its safe to say that the future for Raharney looks bright and that our two new pitches will be graced by some exceptional talent for years to come. A special thanks must also go to the GAA President and the outgoing President of the Camogie Association of Ireland who appeared to thoroughly enjoy their visit on the day. Thanks also to Loughlin and Valerie McHugh who rounded the day off with an evening’s entertainment in The Granite. Last but by no means last we would like to thank the people and community of Raharney and the surrounding areas, who by their generosity have helped us achieve our goal. Joristown Park will always be a testament to this. A lot of years of hard work with blood, sweat and tears went into achieving the success of Sunday. But I'm sure that everyone that attended on Sunday will testify that it has all been worthwhile. The children of Raharney will have the best facilities to practice and demonstrate their talent on for generations to come. Long may it last!!!!

MONSTER BINGO 12th April 2015

There was a great turnout for the Club's Monster Bingo on 12th April in the Mullingar Park Hotel. A big thank you to all of the organisers who's hard work proved to be very worthwhile, as proved by the wonderful turnout. Congratulations to all our winners and as previously stated a special word of thanks to our Bingo caller on the day Hilary Mullen and also to Olive Weir who helped organise the raffle with wonderful prizes. No doubt this will be an event, which we will have to visit again in the future. Keep your eyes peeled.
